Drafting Trusts & Will Trusts 9th edition

By James Kessler QC and Leon Sartin

Do I need this book?

If you are concerned with the drafting of trusts or will trusts, this is the standard textbook, and you I think you will find it essential reading.

If you need to understand the meaning of standard forms of words used in trust documents drafted by others, it will be useful reading.

I am not a solicitor or accountant, but I wish to read about my Will. Should I buy the book?

This book is not intended as a self-help guide, but it is readable for a lay person. If you wish to research your position in depth, and so take control over your affairs, or review the quality of advice you are receiving, buy the book.

I have the 8th edition; do I need the new (9th) edition?

Yes you do! Because of the changes of the Finance Act 2008, relating to transferrable nil rate bands, the last edition is out of date. There have also been the usual collection of smaller, but significant, changes.

Updates to the 9th edition

I will post occasional updates onto this website. If you want to be notified automatically of future updates, please subscribe to the update announcement list at http://lists.webwright-uk.com/mailman/listinfo/jk-announce

Any reader who is a trust practitioner in Hong Kong, India, Ireland, South Africa, Scotland or any other trust jurisdiction, who is sympathetic to the approach of this book, and interested in such a project, please contact me.
