The new edition of Drafting Trusts and Will Trusts is now out.
If you are concerned with the drafting of trusts or will trusts, this is the standard textbook, and I think you will find it essential reading. If you need to understand the meaning of standard forms of words used in trust documents drafted by others, it will be useful reading.
This book is not intended as a self-help guide, but it is readable for a lay person. If you wish to research your position in depth, and so take control over your affairs, or review the quality of advice you are receiving, buy the book.
Yes you do! Because of the Perpetuities and Accumulations Act 2009, the last edition is out of date. There have also been the usual collection of smaller, but significant, changes.
I publish free online updates between editions. If you want to be notified automatically of future updates, please subscribe to the update announcement list. For the third update click here.

I am also preparing (with co-authors) a series of books, based on this work, but adapted for other jurisdictions. Editions in Australia, Canada, Cayman Islands, Channel Islands, New Zealand, Northern Ireland and Singapore are now out. Editions for Bermuda and BVI are underway. Any reader who is a trust practitioner in Hong Kong, India, Ireland, South Africa, Scotland or any other trust jurisdiction, who is sympathetic to the approach of this book, and interested in such a project, please contact me.
Readers comments are of the greatest interest to the authors. If you wish to comment on any aspect of Drafting Trusts & Will Trusts, or if you spot an error, please email James Kessler.
