You will do. The pace of change is frenetic, including since the last edition: two Finance Acts 2010, a 2nd edition of the HMRC Residence Domicile and Remittances Manual, and many new cases on residence. The last edition is now dangerously out of date.
The useful life of the 8th edition is now quite short. If you can wait until September I would do so. However if the matter cannot wait, the 8th edition is now available at half price for those who order the new edition at the same time.
Here is information on how to order Taxation of Foreign Domiciliaries and other books by James Kessler.
I am not a tax practitioner, but I wish to read about my tax position as a person who is resident, but not domiciled, in the UK. Should I buy the book? This book is not intended as a self-help guide, but it is readable for a lay person. If you wish to research your tax position in depth, and so take control over your tax affairs, or review the quality of tax advice you are receiving, buy the book.
